# Shipped licenses

SI Background Remover is published by Legitimate LLC. This file records third-party models, runtime libraries, and assets. No BRIA model or @imgly/background-removal code is included.

The small public ONNX conversion (optional Lightweight mode) is pinned in apps/background-remover/src/model-config.js. The pinned conversion is served from this Pages site with its SHA-256 verified at build time.
- Candidate only, not shipped — BiRefNet Lite: MIT, https://github.com/ZhengPeng7/BiRefNet/blob/main/LICENSE . Authors: Peng Zheng et al. Browser 512-pixel export: https://huggingface.co/studioludens/birefnet-lite-512 at revision 4a3c40c36c94093cc1e724d9ea428b8fa4b57dc7; model card declares MIT. The export is derived from ZhengPeng7/BiRefNet_lite. The candidate was excluded after measurements showed worse quality and much higher memory than MODNet. No BiRefNet weights ship to visitors.

## Assets
Native system fonts; no font files redistributed. Brand artwork and interface styling by Legitimate LLC. Example photo sources and transformations are recorded in ASSETS.md and quality/example-ledger.json. Benchmark-only assets are excluded from the public bundle unless their redistribution licenses have been verified.

License texts for the shipped model families are included in quality/licenses/ and made available on the credits page.

Full installed dependency license texts are available under node_modules/<package>/LICENSE and captured in the lockfile's dependency graph.

# Public example assets

OBSERVED 2026-10-10. The published before/after pairs are made from CC0 or public-domain sources. Each `after.webp` is an actual computed output, with transparency, rather than the source cutout reused as a claimed result.

- `product-*`: Ficus plant alpha cutout composited over a CC0 photographed desk/glass scene, then MODNet inference.
- `pet-*`: photographic cat alpha cutout over a public-domain mountain photo, then MODNet inference.
- `portrait-*`: public-domain U.S. government portrait cutout over the desk scene, then MODNet inference.
- `signature-*`: public-domain historical signature over white, then alpha = 1 − min(R,G,B)/255 with white color decontamination.

Pairs use the same 720×540 center crop. Source thumbnail resolution is below that for some subjects; do not use these as evidence of full-resolution edge accuracy. Processing provenance is recorded in `quality/example-ledger.json`; upstream metadata and hashes in `quality/source-ledger.json`.
